The intuitive, unfriendly, educated male half-Chimera paladin. He has a masculine build. His non-human ancestry gives him a strangely attractive appearance.
Used the Fantasy Crossbreed generator and the Vampire Name generator (Valentine Sturmer) but he doesn't actually have a last name.
Note to self: DON'T START ENTRY TWO DAYS BEFORE DEADLINE
Anddd hey he has a backstory!VALENTINE'S BACKSTORY
During the Black Age of the Dead (thank you era namer), great human empires broke apart due to civil wars, warring for decades until finally the wars ended, leading to the formation of several new empires. That's what little human kids are taught in history class, but for creatures, it's not as simple.
During the course of the wars, humans often poached and tamed creatures for their strength and supernatural abilities. Many clans fell victim to starvation and disease due to their falling numbers, and by the end of the Black Age of the Dead, the creature population fell by three quarters.
What does this have to do with Valentine?
Well, as a result from all the killings of creatures, they developed an intense hate for humans. Chimeras, by themselves, were already shunned at the time, seen as traitors to their race, which was slowly diminishing, and were forced to choose allegiances based on their heritage due to their incredibly small numbers, e.g. being part of a snake group or lion group rather than being part of a chimera group.
So what happens when you pair a chimera and a human? Yep, a whole lotta hate.
When Valentine was born, he was forced into a pride of lions, who were incredibly proud of their heritage. They absolutely despised the poor kid, and abused and neglected him. His chimera father was murdered by his own people and his human mother died during childbirth. He never knew love, and it's not hard to see why he'd be unfriendly afterward.
It had gotten so bad that sometimes he couldn't eat for weeks at a time, so finally, when he reached 15, he ran away. For years he lived by himself solely on his instincts (the instincts of a lion, a snake and a goat all mushed together mind you), until one year he was attacked by a basilisk and was left for dead.
Luckily for him, he had collapsed just outside one of the major cities of the New Empire (thank you realm name generator). The humans took him in and required that he serve in their army (they were bordering conscription because of the lack of enlistment) in return for saving him. Valentine is a stubborn bastard, so he wouldn't let himself die so easily but was reluctant to join. He ended up going, grudgingly of course.
Well, Valentine is educated, right? Of course he is, otherwise they wouldn't let him into the army! At the time, it was a requirement that anyone enlisting had basic education. Valentine didn't, but at the same time he absolutely had to serve. The humans shoved him into a state school and after only 4 years was able to serve.
(He's still fairly bad at talking.)
At 25, Valentine entered the army as part of the non-magical infantry regiment. (He was denied from the cavalry simply because the horses hated his guts.) He is still a soldier to this day (he's 50 now; chimeras live for real long) and is known for his tenacity, leadership and long-lasting loyalty. He's not getting promoted any time soon though since he's pretty much the only non-magical infantry soldier left and can be used for certain advantages.
Currently, it's the Bloodstained Age of the Battlefields (thank you again, era namer). The warring began a year ago because of tension between the empires and the killing was finally set off because of the assassination of the king of the Living Empire of the Kings (did I mention I'm abusing the realm namer?). So Valentine is going to just go and fight for the humans again, right?
Not so right. Because the killing of the creatures is starting up again and with all that chimera blood running through him, he's deeply opposed to it. It's up to him whether to join the humans and kill more creatures, or return to his kin and start up an army in order to stop the humans....that was an okay backstory, right?
